How does BOTOX Cosmetic work?
BOTOX Cosmetic, also known as Botulinum Type A, is derived from a bacterium, Clostridium Botulinum. It is produced under very closely controlled laboratory conditions and then administered by Dr. Palmer in exceedingly small therapeutic doses to treat unwanted facial lines and wrinkles. BOTOX is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed in the United States. Read More
What is Juvederm?
JUVÉDERM® is a 'next generation' family of smooth, long-lasting gel dermal fillers, and the latest advance in hyaluronic acid cosmetic filler technology. Over recent years, hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar already found naturally in the body, has become a favored compound for replenishing the areas of the face where the skin's youthful fat volume and fullness has been lost, such as in the nasolabial folds (lines that run from the sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth), wrinkles of the lower and upper face and lipstick lines, and for plumping out the lips.
In the body, hyaluronic acid fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers of the skin. It is present in all living cells, attracting and binding water, hydrating and giving the skin smoothness and volume. However, as the body ages, the ability of the body's cells to manufacture its own hyaluronic acid is diminished, resulting in the loss of skin volume, producing folds and wrinkles.
JUVÉDERM® is biosynthetic and of non-animal origin. Since it is not created from an animal source, there is little chance of allergic reaction. The formula is highly biocompatible, and no testing is required prior to administration. It has been proven to be safe and effective for skin of all types and colors.
The main difference between JUVÉDERM® and other popular hyularonic acid fillers is that JUVÉDERM® has the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid, and it is produced with a special formulation process that makes it smoother than that of other popular gels. These gels utilize a suspension process, with particles that can be visibly seen. The particles in JUVÉDERM® gel are so small that it is completely transparent.
The combination of the higher concentration of hyaluronic acid and the smoother formulation make JUVÉDERM® long-lasting (up to six months or longer) and easier to fill with, and it should produce more natural, even-filling effects, with patient discomfort minimized at the injection site. As with other hyaluronic acid fillers, JUVÉDERM® is gradually absorbed naturally into the body.

What is Latisse and what does it do?
Latisse® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for thin or sparse eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker. It's a once-a-day treatment that works gradually and effectively. You apply the solution topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Then, results start to show in as little as 8 weeks, with full results in 16 weeks.
The science behind Latisse
Latisse makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, Latisse is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.
It's a product whose time has come
In 2001, Allergan developed a medicated eye drop used to lower eye pressure (known as IOP or intraocular pressure) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. As a result, patients using this medication began experiencing eyelash growth as a side effect. This led Allergan, already a pioneer in eye care, dermatological and aesthetic products, to begin studying its active ingredient. After a clinical trial, Latisse earned its FDA approval in December 2008. And since then, approximately 1.5 million bottles of Latisse have been prescribed to approximately 350,000 people.
The Results Speak for Themselves
